ADHD in adults

Colophon

Introduction top

The interest in ADHD as diagnosis in adults is recent. Psychiatrists and other mental health services often know little about ADHD in adults, even though the estimated prevalence in adults is at least 1%. ADHD patients are often better informed about the disorder than caregivers. A lot of information can be gathered via the Internet, and there are many patient sites to be found.

Our first objective in selecting sites is to help caregivers to catch up on the subject and to provide the practitioners with preliminary information about the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in adults. We further selected sites that follow the latest developments in the Netherlands and the US.

In the treatment of ADHD, psycho-education is very important. Referring patients to relevant information is therefore also essential. To prevent the patient from getting lost in the mass of information available, we provide specially selected sites of interest to patients. Quality of content and accessible design were the main considerations.
